Abstract text:

Issues: it is observed that the number of people living with HIV/AIDS(PLWHA) and other venereal disease in Nigeria and Africa as a whole has increase dramtrically. lack of information and miss information is a major cause of this.language difference is another factor and non involvment of community leaders and private companies who do not support development or helps to create more awareness HIV/AIDS and all venereal disease in public and private lives, especially among the Univeristies and secondary schools both in the cities and local communities.

Description:

i came up with a youth team to train youths/students in the target community on awareness, treatment & prevention who in turn help in translation and facilitate in the trainning of the entire community.we use this method because its their community and they no the best way to pass the message to both the old and the young and the rally was in the local language.we research and found out that trainning have taken place but because youths in the community & health workers were not involve and it was only done in english so it was not effective.

Lessons learned:

the first community we tried this method was a success because the king, the youths/students & health workers of the community were involved after our evaluation we had 70% awareness rate among the youths the community and the king help setup an anti Aids club for the community were students can get update information on Hiv/Aids.

Recommendations:
language very big setback for a successful trainning on awareness, treatment & prevention to a community without using the local language to pass the message and involving the youths of the community and the suport of the king or leader of the community.
